IPTV on MAG Box: Portal Setup for MAG Set-Top Boxes
MAG boxes connect through a portal URL tied to the box's MAC address — no app installation required.
MAG set-top boxes are purpose-built IPTV receivers. Instead of installing a player app, you enter a portal URL, and access is linked to the box's unique MAC address. Once configured, they behave like a traditional cable box: switch on and watch.
Before you set up a MAG box
Find the MAC address on the sticker under the box (it starts with 00:1A:79). Share it with us when you request your IPTV subscription so your portal access can be linked to that specific box.
Entering the portal URL
Open Settings
From the MAG home screen, go to Settings → System settings → Servers → Portals.
Add the portal
Enter a name (e.g. IPTVSubTV) in Portal 1 name, and the portal URL from your activation details in Portal 1 URL.
Save and restart
Save the settings and restart the box. The portal loads and your channels appear.
MAG box troubleshooting
- "Your STB is blocked" or portal won't load — check the portal URL for typos and confirm the MAC address you provided matches the sticker.
- Guide is empty — let the box run for a few minutes after the first boot; guide data loads in the background.
- Picture freezes — MAG boxes are sensitive to Wi-Fi quality. Use the Ethernet port wherever possible, and see the buffering fix guide.
Prefer a modern app-based setup? A Firestick or Android TV device gives you a wider choice of players.
