TiviMate is an IPTV player for Android TV, Google TV and Fire TV devices. Its interface is built around the TV guide, which makes it feel familiar to anyone coming from cable or satellite.
This guide walks through installation, adding your subscription, getting the guide right and the settings worth changing. For other options, see best IPTV player apps.
Quick answer
To set up TiviMate, install it on your Android TV, Google TV or Fire TV device, choose Add playlist, select Xtream Codes, enter your server, username and password, name the playlist and select Done. Then update the EPG in Settings and switch playback to hardware decoding.
Installing TiviMate
- Android TV / Google TV: search for TiviMate in the Google Play Store and install it.
- Fire TV: check the Amazon Appstore; if it isn't listed for your device, the developer provides official download instructions. Only use the developer's official source — see is IPTV safe?.
TiviMate is designed for TV devices with a remote; it isn't intended for phones.
Adding your IPTV subscription
Open TiviMate
On first launch, choose Add playlist.
Choose Xtream Codes
Select Xtream Codes login. Use M3U playlist only if you don't have Xtream details.
Enter server, username and password
Type them exactly, including http:// and the port. TiviMate's on-screen keyboard supports pasting if you've copied the details on the device.
Name the playlist
Give it a name, review the detected channels, VOD and series counts, and select Done.
If the login fails, the most common causes are a mistyped server address or a missing port — see IPTV error codes.
Getting the TV guide right
With Xtream Codes, TiviMate fetches the EPG automatically. If the guide is empty, open Settings → EPG and select Update EPG. You can also set how many days of guide data to keep — fewer days loads faster on devices with limited storage.
If times are shifted, adjust the EPG time offset for the playlist. More guide fixes are on our IPTV EPG page.
Organising channels
- Favourites: long-press OK on a channel and add it to Favourites.
- Hide groups: in Settings → Playlists → Manage groups, hide categories you never watch.
- Reorder: arrange groups so your most-watched appear first.

Playback settings worth changing
| Setting | Suggestion | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Decoder | Hardware | Smoother playback, less heat |
| AFR (auto frame rate) | On, if your TV handles it well | Matches frame rate for smoother motion |
| Buffer size | Medium; Large on weak Wi-Fi | Absorbs network dips |
| Audio passthrough | On only if your soundbar decodes Dolby | Avoids silent channels |
Each of these is explained in IPTV player settings.
Free vs Premium
TiviMate has a free version and a paid Premium tier that unlocks extra features such as multiple playlists, catch-up, recording and more guide customisation. Premium is bought from the developer, not from your IPTV provider. Check the developer's current details before purchasing.
TiviMate setup: frequently asked questions
No. TiviMate is a player. You add your own IPTV subscription to it using Xtream Codes or an M3U URL.
Open Settings → EPG and update the EPG. With M3U playlists you may also need to add an EPG URL.
Catch-up is a Premium feature in TiviMate and only works on channels where your provider offers it.
TiviMate is designed for TV devices. On phones, consider IPTV Smarters or another mobile player.
Conclusion
With your playlist loaded, the guide refreshed and favourites organised, TiviMate feels much like a traditional TV box.
