"Not loading" can mean two different things: the channel list never appears, or the list appears but channels won't play. The causes overlap, but the fastest fixes differ — so start by identifying which you have.

This article is part of our IPTV troubleshooting guide.

Quick answer

If IPTV channels won't load, re-enter your server URL, username and password exactly, confirm your subscription is active, set your device clock to automatic and give large playlists time. If the list loads but channels won't play, switch between TS and HLS, change the decoder and check no other device is using your connections.

If the channel list won't load

  1. Re-check your login

Server URL (with http:// and port), username and password — exactly as provided, case-sensitive.

  2. Check your subscription is active

An expired account typically returns an authorisation error; see IPTV error codes.

  3. Check the device's date and time

A wrong clock can break secure connections. Set it to automatic.

  4. Give large lists time

On first load, big playlists can take a minute or two on streaming sticks.

  5. Switch to Xtream Codes

If you're loading a large M3U file, Xtream login is usually faster — see M3U vs Xtream Codes.

  6. Try a different DNS

Some ISP DNS servers are slow or block lookups. Switching DNS on the device or router can help — see the home network guide.

If the list loads but channels won't play

  1. Switch stream format

Change between MPEG-TS and HLS in the player settings.

  2. Change decoder

Try software decoding for the affected channel.

  3. Check connections in use

If another device is streaming, you may have reached your plan's limit — see 1 device or 2?.

  4. Test in another player

If a channel plays in VLC but not your usual app, the issue is the app or its settings.

Clear the cache or re-add the playlist

Corrupt cached data can stop a list loading even when everything else is right. On Android and Fire TV: Settings → Applications → your player → Clear cache. If that doesn't help, remove the playlist from the player and add it again. On Firestick, our speed-up guide has more housekeeping tips.

When only some channels fail

Individual channels can be temporarily unavailable, or the source may have changed. Wait a little and try again; refresh your playlist; and if the same channel still fails on every device, report it to support with the channel name and time.

IPTV channels not loading: frequently asked questions

Common causes are wrong login details, an expired subscription, a wrong device clock or a very large playlist. Re-enter your details and give the first load time to finish.

Try switching the stream format between TS and HLS, changing the decoder mode, and making sure no other device is using your connections.

Clearing cache usually keeps your playlist. Clearing data or storage removes it, so you'd need to add it again.

Conclusion

Loading problems almost always come down to login details, stream format or connections in use — work through them in that order.
